Phytophthora outbreak on Mull

The Forestry Commission Scotland is to hold a special meeting on Mull on 31 January to discuss and find a way forward in relation to an outbreak of phytophthora ramorum in the south east of the island.

This outbreak is proving particularly challenging as the fungal infection is affecting rhododendron as well as larch, rhododendron being considerably more difficult and costly to remove.  Scottish Land & Estates will attend the meeting to support our members on Mull, a number of whom have been served plant health notices as a result of the outbreak.
