Scotland’s Draft Energy Strategy

The Scottish Government, has this week, published its Draft Energy Strategy for consultation. A new target to deliver the equivalent of 50% of the energy required for Scotland’s heat, transport and electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030 is part of Scotland’s first energy strategy.

The consultation explores choices against the requirements of: the continued, sustainable and inclusive growth of Scotland’s economy; secure, reliable supplies of energy when they are required; achieving better outcomes for consumers of energy with more affordable energy requirements; and long-term, sustainable decarbonisation – as set out by Scotland’s 2050 climate change targets.

Scottish Land & Estates will be responding to this consultation. Any comments should be directed to either Gavin or Katy at HQ by 23 May 2017.
