A decision has been taken to temporarily suspend the Environmental Co-operation Action Fund (ECAF) following robust audit checks that highlighted the scheme as currently designed could present a significant audit risk.
Scottish Ministers have been advised of the issues and have now taken the decision that the current round should be cancelled. It is intended to re-launch the scheme, following redesign, to ensure audit compliance. Applicants from the 2016 scheme, who were expecting to receive contracts, have been contacted to advise them of this decision. In the interim, Ministers are considering options for reallocating the monies previously allocated to this round of the scheme for re-distribution to a range of initiatives that will benefit the environment and the rural economy.
