Public contracts for food and drink sector

More Scottish food and drink could be served in schools, hospitals and other public buildings, under plans to boost the economy by making public-sector catering contracts more accessible to businesses in Scotland.

Scottish companies in the food and drink sector currently service around 48% of public contracts, which are worth around £750 million between now and 2021. The Scottish Government today convened a summit with the food industry, including caterers and buyers, to discuss how Scottish firms could be helped to access the more public sector food and drink contracts, supporting the domestic food and drink sector.
