Renewable schemes affected by rates revaluation

Scottish Land & Estates is aware that some small-scale renewable schemes are facing a large increase in their non-domestic rates revaluation. Scottish Renewables and others have written to Derek Mackay, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Constitution calling for the Scottish Government to extend its renewable energy rates relief to cover small-scale, commercial renewable energy installations.

Mr Mackay, speaking at portfolio questions (starts at 29.00) on Wednesday said “local relief schemes are still under active consideration” in regards to renewable schemes.
