Superfast Broadband Extended

£15.6 million of is being reinvested in the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband project which is going to be used to target areas with the lowest speeds.

The Digital Scotland contract uses public investment and investment from BT includes a clawback that requires BT to return part of the public investment when uptake surpasses 20%. That money has been returned to Scottish Government and reinvested to further improve coverage and speeds in areas other than Highlands and Islands. There has already been a clawback return of £2.3 million for the Highland & Islands region.
