Satellite-tagged eagle appeal for information

Scottish Land & Estates, which represents rural businesses across Scotland, today supported an appeal for information over a satellite-tagged eagle whose transmitter has failed.

Data from the eagle’s satellite tag was last received in early March and the bird’s last whereabouts were recorded in the Deeside area.

A spokesman for Scottish Land & Estates said: “We would appeal for anyone with information about this matter to contact Police Scotland immediately. We are now aware that Police Scotland, RSPB Scotland and an estate in the area have been involved in a search for the eagle.

“We do not know if anything has happened to this bird but as a partner in the Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime (Scotland) we believe it is in everyone’s interests that any potentially relevant information is provided to the police as soon as possible.”
