Income Tax

From 6 April 2017 Scotland has for the first time different income tax bands from the rest of the UK.  The freezing of the higher rate income tax threshold at the current level of £43,000 will mean that higher rate taxpayers living in Scotland will pay up to £400 more in tax each year when compared to their counterparts in the rest of the UK, who will see their higher rate threshold increase to £45,000 in the 2017/18 tax year.
