Research highlights mental ill health issues in rural Scotland

Support in Mind Scotland (SiMS) joined forces with Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) last year to produce survey on mental ill health in rural Scotland. The findings have now been published and have already been used to help inform the Scottish Government’s Mental Health Strategy. Scottish Land & Estates has been working closely with SiMS and SRUC to raise awareness of mental ill health issues in rural communities via the National Rural Mental Health Forum. The Forum has received funding from the Scottish Government for 6 months to help develop connections between communities and enable people to receive support when and where they need it.
