Rural Development Operational Committee

Scottish Government’s advisory group on Scotland’s Rural Development Programme, which Anne Gray represents Scottish Land & Estates on, met on Thursday. Despite ongoing IT concerns over payments, the programme itself is proceeding well and compares favourably to similar programmes in other EU member states.  Of note, the extension to the 2017 application window -  https://www.ruralnetwork.scot/news-and-events/news/aecs-application-window-extended to 2 May, discussion and debate around the “so called” parachute option for LFASS - https://www.ruralnetwork.scot/news-and-events/news/lfass-changes-announced, that the ECAF is to return (more on this in due course), and the ongoing high levels of demand for the New Entrants Scheme -   https://www.ruralpayments.org/publicsite/futures/topics/all-schemes/new-entrants/young-farmers-and-new-entrants-start-up-grant-schemes/young-farmers-start-up-grant-scheme-full-guidance, which remains open for applications to 30 September 2017.
