Hutting event

A wide variety of land owners attended a hutting event on the Falkland Estate this week to find out about the opportunities available regards to hosting hut sites on their land. Reforesting Scotland was on hand to talk about its ‘Good practice guidance’ and ‘Voluntary Code of Good Practice’, as well as share ideas and experience with attendees. Around 800 people have so far registered an interest in having a hut and this event represented a good opportunity for land owners to establish what some of the benefits might be to their hosting a site.

A survey by Reforesting Scotland has been carried out on hutter expectations etc., the results of which are currently being compiled. These results could potentially help a land owner better plan the hosting of a hut site and Scottish Land & Estates will share the results once they have been published.
