Housing Roadshows

Scottish Land & Estates is holding a series of Housing Roadshows in June.  The Roadshows will provide an overview of the main changes in housing and answer any queries you have.
Scottish Land & Estates’ senior policy officer Katy Dickson will be joined by Clare Dunlop a senior associate at Turcan Connell, and a representative from the Scottish Government at the Roadshows.
Housing is a key aspect to many rural businesses. Never before have we seen such a focus on the private rented sector in terms of supply, condition, rent and tenant security. Private sector landlords and their agents must begin to prepare for the implementation of the recent changes in order to be compliant and protect their interests.
Topics covered will include:

  • The new tenancy regime
  • Letting Agent Regulation
  • Energy Efficiency and Condition Standards Consultation.

We strongly urge anybody with let property interests, whether as an owner or agent, to attend their nearest event.
In addition to the housing presentation we are also looking for up to 12 members to attend housing workshops before the Inverness and Dumfries events. These workshops will seek your input into the barriers which are preventing the delivery of more affordable housing and will contribute to a report to raise awareness of the issues and suggest how they can be overcome.
