Fire and Smoke Alarm Consultation

The Scottish Government is consulting on fire and smoke detection in Scottish homes until 1st December. Much of the consultation addresses whether the high standard currently demanded of the Private Rented Sector should be applied to social housing and owner occupied housing. Part four, however, considers if changes are needed to the standard currently applying to the PRS. This includes common alarms interlinking flats and alarms in common areas. If any member has any comments that they would like Scottish Land & Estates to make in the organisation’s response, please get in touch with Katy Dickson at HQ.
