Scotland’s National Ecological Network (NEN)

The development of a NEN for Scotland has been identified as a priority action in Scotland’s third National Planning Framework and the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy 2020. Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) has been asked by Scottish Government to lead on this work. Earlier this week Scottish Land & Estates along with several other organisations attended a ‘Developing a National Ecological Network – Stakeholder Workshop’ at SNH offices in Battleby.
The day included workshop and discussion sessions on the draft NEN statement and action plan. Next steps include an update of these documents to take into account discussions from the day.The document will then go out for consultation.
