Planning review working Group

Scottish Land & Estates attended the latest planning review workshop this week where discussions centred on a technical paper outlining proposals for the Planning Bill. There is still a lack of detail surrounding much of the proposals despite there being a short time available before a Bill is due to be presented before Parliament by the end of the year.

Scottish Land & Estates was involved with discussions on proposals surrounding the preparation of Local Development Plans such as 10-year cycles, the ‘gatecheck’ process etc. and infrastructure. Proposals for LDP preparation are still light on detail, however there were some positive ideas being fed into discussions. For infrastructure, proposals have set out how an ‘infrastructure levy’ might work with either a centrally controlled option or a locally controlled option being tabled.
