Scottish Land & Estates provided written and oral evidence during the committee scrutiny process.  While we are confident many of our concerns will be addressed, we remain keen to see the proposed compulsory purchase power for the purpose of furthering sustainable development dropped from the Bill.  This particular provision we feel is too broad and unspecific.  It is not clear how the Government see it being used and we do not believe it adequately balances private property rights.  For these reasons we believe it should be removed.
