Habitat Impact Assessment – funding support

SNH has announced that it is making grants of £1,800 available to Deer Management Groups that support them in delivering agreed actions on Habitat Impact Assessment (HIA) as set out in their Deer Management Plans. This contribution can be used by DMGs to support delivery of three key phases:
• Understanding the need for an HIA.
• Building the confidence and competence of DMG members in delivering an HIA.
• Analysing and interpreting the results of an HIA.
The contribution is offered on a ‘partnership’ basis, with the DMG contribution being in time and effort. All funds need to be claimed in full before the 31 March 2018, so DMGs will need to move quickly to make effective use of this offer.

Deer Management Groups interested in taking up this opportunity should contact their local Wildlife Management Officer (WMO) in the first instance.
