LFASS payments will not reduce for 2018

The Scottish Government has been able to confirm this week that LFASS payments in Scotland will not be reduce next year.  The government had been ready to reduce the payments by 20% in order to satisfy requirements at EU level,  but following recent approval of the EU Omnibus Regulation the change can be delayed until 2019. 

The draft Scottish Budget was published last week which has retained the LFASS budget at £65.5m.  Please see the attached press release which explains that Scottish Ministers have decided to pay LFASS at 100% of the current payment rates for 2018 https://news.gov.scot/news/lfass-grants-update
