Elena joined SLE in January 2025, having previously worked for the NFU (England and Wales) and the National Trust. Her background is in sports communications, with almost a decade of experience helping amateur and professional rugby clubs and governing bodies build better relationships with their communities.
She grew up on a dairy farm in South Ayrshire, and has degrees from the University of St Andrews and Glasgow Caledonian University. Her interest is in supporting and promoting the vital role of rural communities in Scotland and helping others to understand how important these communities are to the country as a whole.
In her spare time, Elena likes reading, cinema, supporting Glasgow Warriors and attempting to improve her German and (very slowly and laboriously) learning Portuguese.
