Introduction

This website is owned and operated by Scottish Land & Estates and we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy describes how and why we obtain, store and process data which can identify you. We may update this policy from time to time and shall indicate on the website when changes have been made.

We may collect personal identification information from users when they visit the site. This could include but it not limited to; name and email address. 

Information is collected from you when you register with us, or when you contribute to or use some of the advanced features on the site. The information we collect is clearly set out on the web page on which we collect it. See for example our Enewsletter registration page and online sign up and enquiry forms. In addition, we may collect your IP address.

To allow engagement with certain features of the site, for example SLE membership, some personal information is required. Although users can always refuse to supply this personal information, this will prevent access to certain areas of the site.  

Non-Personal Information 

When accessing and interacting with the Scottish Land & Estates website, we may collect non personal information about users. This could include, but it not limited to; browser name, IP address, and location. 
This information will provide us with internal information regarding site traffic and statistics.

Why we collect it

Scottish Land & Estates has legitimate interests in collecting and using your personal information. However, our legitimate business interests will never override your personal rights and interests and we will always consider and balance any potential impact on you under the relevant laws. 

We may use the personal and non-personal identification information we collect from you for the following reasons;

  • To provide our services (for example send you our enewsletter)

In addition we may also send occasional emails regarding company announcements, new services or promotional offers. At any time a user my unsubscribe from receiving future emails, and there are detailed instructions of how to do so at the bottom of each email. 

Who we disclose it to

We do not sell, trade or rent our users personal information to others. 

Scottish Land & Estates employs third party service providers to assist in the operation of our business. This could include but is not limited to processing payments and email service providers. These third parties will have access to the personal identification information needed to perform these functions and are authorised to only use your information for these functions. 

In certain circumstances we may need to disclose information about you if you breach this privacy policy or if you breach the Terms and Conditions. We may also disclose or access your account if required to do so by law or by any Governmental body.
