Nic joined Scottish Land & Estates in April 2022 as Regional Manager for Clydeside & Argyll, a role she held for over two years. She then held the Policy & Public Affairs Assistant role followed by an Acting Policy Adviser role before stepping into her current role as Policy & Public Affairs Adviser covering topics such as Rural Crime, Deer Management and more.
Originally from a farm in Uplawmoor, East Renfrewshire, Nic has always had a deep-rooted passion for the countryside, farming and animal welfare. She now runs a smallholding of her own, home to a fold of Highland cattle and native breed chickens, alongside her work at SLE.
Before joining SLE, Nic built a diverse career across landscaping, construction, and property, gaining valuable experience and progressing through each industry. A move to Canada brought a new chapter, where she became Practice Manager of a large veterinary clinic - combining her love of animals, business and leadership.
After nearly three years abroad, Nic returned to Scotland with a desire to reconnect with rural life. Her role at SLE allows her to support the rural sector professionally while also pursuing her own farming journey and raising her son. She is particularly passionate about farm-to-fork, local food production and promoting rural education.
