Our members are warmly invited to join us at this year’s Central Members’ Regional Reception, to be held at Fingask Castle, Rait, Perthshire PH2 7SA at 6pm on Thursday 24 November 2022.

Our theme is ‘Land Management, Carbon and Natural Capital – where are we headed?’ and we will have two excellent speakers.  Chief Science Advisor, Dr Helaine Black of Agricarbon UK Ltd will present on the part soil analysis will play for every land manager, and Sam Skinner, part of Savills' Natural Capital team, will speak about an integrated approach to land use in the face of the climate change emergency, biodiversity crisis and food security crisis.

This is also your chance to hear all about the work the organisation is undertaking on your behalf at a national and regional level. We’ll have an organisational and political update from SLE Chairman Mark Tennant and our Chief Executive Sarah-Jane Laing; also, a policy update from SLE’s Vice Chair of Policy Dee Ward, and Head of Policy Stephen Young.

There will be a panel discussion and Q&A, providing plenty of opportunity for animated discussion and debate with fellow SLE members and colleagues.

This event provides an excellent networking opportunity and the chance to meet with SLE Board members and colleagues, your Central Regional Chair Antony Gifford, and Central Regional Support Officer, Ruth White.

A draft version of the progamme is available to download here.

Places are limited for this free event so booking is essential.  Kindly note that the main presentations will be hosted in ‘The Long Gallery’ which is on the first floor of the castle which is only accessed via the grand staircase. Please book online by Friday 18 November.
