SLE, alongside partners at BASC and the Scottish Countryside Alliance, are delighted to be hosting a hustings event at the AK Bell Library in Perth ahead of the General Election on 04 July. This event will place the spotlight on rural Scotland, providing Parliamentary Candidates from the major forces in Scottish Politics an opportunity to discuss their plans to support rural Scotland.
This event is a unique opportunity for members to put questions to politicians vying for a seat in the House of Commons on the issues that matter most to people living and working in rural Scotland. Whilst a lot of talk about rural issues has recently focussed on Holyrood, the powers reserved to Westminster that affect rural Scotland include taxation, ringfenced agricultural funding, rural connectivity, trade and so much more.
