SLE Next Generation landowning members are invited to The Rhynd on Leuchars Estate in North East Fife to learn about the bold diversification of the family farm always with an eye on the environment and creating something different

Predominantly an arable farm, NextGen owner Ed along with his wife Lisa love to hero local produce, and they not only grow their own vegetables and herbs, they rear their own Tamworth and Mangalitsa pigs.

“When we talk about food mileage, we genuinely talk about metres not miles!”

Their annual carbon audit, conducted by Scottish Agronomy, shows they are removing 66,737kg (66 tonnes) of carbon from the atmosphere every year through their forestry and focus on good yields, this takes into account the several thousand tonnes of wheat, barley and oats harvested off the farm.

Join Ed & Lisa to hear about their journey as part of over a century of farming at Leuchars Estate and their motivation around food including their adventures in hospitality which includes a peek at their Forest Feast events with chef Jack Baldwin.

The Rhynd is an award winning rural business and Helping It Happen Finalist offering luxury off grid accommodation alongside their wedding business, shooting ground and even a Fitness business.
