Having been in operation since 2005, the existing business, built on Burnside Farm, was acquired in 2015 to form part of the wider Snaigow Estate. Following acquisition, the Cadogan Family invested in redeveloping the site to create an all-weather, all season, sustainable business which had previously been restricted by its seasonality. The redeveloped site would meet the community’s needs to a greater extent as well as the long-term strategy for the estate. The project was managed by Galbraith who assigned Mill Architects to bring their experience in farm diversification and agri-tourism development to the design of the site. Where accommodation was limited to a small former dairy building, the new play barn provides extensive internal play facilities for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy, along with the provision of full-time permanent local employment and a much needed facility for young families in the Stanley area. This event invites members to learn from the estate about their motivation and vision along with a presentation from Mill Architects on the design and construction. Members will be invited to tour the facility and take inspiration for their own businesses.
Active Kids Adventure Park is a 2023 Helping It Happen Award winner for The Rural Property Award.
