Energy efficiency in residential property is a hot topic. This event is a great opportunity to see and hear first-hand how to improve energy efficiency in housing. You will learn about the challenges and how to overcome them in a practical environment.
Scottish Land & Estates, in partnership with Kinnordy Estate and @rchitects Scotland invites SLE Members to attend this knowledge transfer and information event aimed at landowners, property managers and built heritage professionals.
The redevelopment of Sheilhill House will ultimately result in its alteration to form three dwellings. The first two dwellings are currently being progressed by the estate on site and attendees will have the unique opportunity to view the properties in various stages of development.
Hosted by Antony Gifford (Kinnordy Estate) and Paul Fretwell (@rchitects Scotland) this informal ‘Walk & Talk’ event is an opportunity to speak with those directly involved in the redevelopment of this building and to view firsthand the processes and techniques that are being deployed by the Estate, to ensure this building is brought up to date as modern living rental properties.
A key element of this event is to learn about the issues relating to the subdivision of a large property, the approaches taken in terms of compartmentation, energy efficiency and the problems of protected species as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by the Estate on an estate managed development.
This unique event will allow interested parties to come together in an informal setting to meet, network and learn from each other in a practical way.
As this event will take place on an active building site please bring suitable footwear and clothing.
Discussion topics will include:
- Appropriate subdivision of the property
- Insulation upgrade strategies & hard to treat properties
- Integration of construction & protected species (bats)
This event is free of charge to SLE Members, but booking is essential through the SLE website.
