Location: Kinnordy Estate, Balintore, Angus DD8 5ES

Aim: Expanding on the feature published in the Autumn Issue of LandBusiness, Antony Gifford will host members at his estate to discuss the projects exemplified.

Joined by Steve Liddle, Greenbeard Forestry Ltd and Hamish Muir, CBEC Eco-Egineering, Antony will showcase environmental projects undertaken on Ballintore Estate in Angus.

This Walk and Talk will combine a visit to the 2021 Forestry Grant Scheme-funded Woodland Creation Scheme(WCS) at Balintore, with a chance to see the site of the 2023 restoration of the upper stretch of the Quharity Burn, with recently confirmed funding from the Nature Restoration Fund (NRF). Members will have a chance to talk to the estate owner, and to the two advisers leading the projects.

There will be an opportunity to view both sites, while discussing with the hosts:

1.            The motivations for the two projects

2.            The grants and funding available

3.            The project management challenges

4.            How these projects impact on the existing farming and shooting activities

This event is free of charge to SLE Members, but booking is essential through the SLE website.
