Awaab’s Law was introduced in Scotland for the private rented sector under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2025 and came into effect on 6 October 2026.  As a result damp and mould has become a key area of focus for providers of rented housing and property professionals. This practical webinar will bring together specialist input from GLM Building Surveyors and Architects, alongside an overview of the legal framework and implications of Awaab's Law.

Ian McKee FRICS FCABE, a chartered building surveyor who co-founded GLM in 1995, will explain how to identify the causes of damp and mould in residential properties, distinguish between different forms of moisture-related defects, and consider appropriate investigation, remediation and prevention measures, including knowing when to seek specialist professional input.

The session will also provide an overview of Awaab's Law, including its purpose, the standards it introduces, who it applies to, and what landlords and property managers need to be aware of.

Suitable for landlords, housing managers, rural estate owners, letting professionals and anyone responsible for the management or maintenance of residential property, this webinar will provide practical guidance and an opportunity to better understand both the technical and legal aspects of damp and mould management.

Register now to stay ahead of Awaab’s Law, gain practical guidance on damp and mould management, and help ensure your properties meet the required standards!
