Galloway has been confirmed as the proposed location for Scotland’s third National Park, with further consultations and assessments of its suitability for this designation to be carried out in the forthcoming months.

NatureScot, as the ‘Reporter’ to the Scottish Government, will lead the public consultation as to whether Galloway should join Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and the Cairngorms with the designation before submitting its findings to Ministers by the end of April next year.

On Monday 9 September at 3pm we will be hosting a webinar to discuss the proposals. It will cover the potential challenges and opportunities which may lay ahead, and the processes that are likely to follow during the subsequent months

We will include short presentations from our policy team where we will:

  • Outlining the process for the reporter stage, what NatureScot will do
  • Discuss the results of our members surveys
  • Discuss our workplan going forward
  • Look at future engagement and next steps based upon our member feedback

There will also be an opportunity for questions and further discussion thereafter.

This webinar is open to all, including those out with the proposed National Park boundary.
