Nominee – Qualities
Chloe has shown real initiative and enthusiasm to learn as much as possible about the issues specifically affecting our upland landscapes and is deploying her strong skill set to further the charity's objectives of sustainable, resilient moorlands. Using her experience from working for over nine years in tourism, rural, and charity sectors, she is a highly effective communicator and events manager that lives and breaths our rural landscapes. Chloe uses her strong network to promote the charity's work across the UK and is always willing to work the extra hours, or go the extra mile to ensure our objectives are met. Using her creativity and ability to communicate with all stakeholders, she is delivering targeted and meaningful events and marketing that is raising our profile and the core issues we are focussing on, which is crucial at this time when our uplands face ever-tightening legislation.
Nominee - Sectoral Impact
With almost a decade's experience working in tourism, rural, and charity sectors in the UK, Chloe is very familiar with the stakeholders in this area. Having previously been employed by GWCT, Country Sport Scotland and Atholl Estates, she has a deep understanding of the rural economy and issues affecting this demographic. She has accrued skills and understanding to ensure she is very well placed to communicate at many levels. It is this understanding which allows Chloe to deliver a wide range of events, from training days to educating young people to research presentations, alongside impactful marketing materials using design software to enhance our visual presence and outreach. In doing so, Chloe is reaching new audiences and sharing the work of our charity amongst those who may not have been aware of what we do and ultimately promoting our incredible upland landscapes. Her fresh approach and digital skills ensure we are communicating effectively and engaging audiences across many platforms both traditional and digital. She has also taken on the management of our fundraising auction and successfully raised 50% more in funds than the previous year - all of which is ploughed back into our charitable work.
Nominee - Going the extra mile
Chloe always ensures that a project or task is completed to the best of her ability. She ensures that every detail is accounted for and seeks 100% delivery in all that she does. She is committed to ensuring that the work of The Heather Trust is promoted in the best possible way - which is absolutely key for such a small organisation with limited resources. Working in the third sector requires a certain mind set to ensure everything is delivered in line with our membership and constitution and Chloe is always seeking new connections and networks that can further our cause. Working with landowners, keepers, corporate and policy contacts, she promotes our work and ensures our voice is heard. She has been instrumental in securing our presence at the Royal Highland Show and Scottish Game Fair and is currently working on an event at Holyrood, in the north of England and in London to help promote our research work. Chloe is also keen to develop her knowledge, skills and take on new challenges and is always willing to help out where needed.
