As a charity we were asked to support an initiative to develop a small area of woodland next to the health centre which has been leased for the next three years. We have made a small network of paths, a couple of water features and planted lots of wildflowers and also seeded many more. Feeders were put in place to attract the wildlife and a wildlife camera trap was set up to record visiting wildlife. The woodland is meant for patients and staff, a beautiful space in which to draw breath and relax.
We were very keen to support this initiative even though we haven't been able to run any fundraising events since the beginning of last year. We have sufficient funds to pay for the aggregate for the paths and some furniture for seating but we would really like to further develop another area of the woodland into a fitness track/exercise area to encourage patients to be more active in the outdoors.
