Hugh Grierson Organic is part of a traditional family farm in Perthshire, Scotland. They pride themselves in the way which they run the farm and the produce that comes from these traditional techniques. The business has grown to incorporate 2 main farm sites, Newmiln Farm and Balgowan. The farms first received organic status in 2002 and have moved into new areas of production that compliment the meat products, namely organic potato crops, organic egg production and organic table chicken.
The business is about linking their lifestyle with a healthy future. The farm exists in the way it does because there is a rapidly growing number of people who share similar views views and want to engage with the farm’s products, which is a cycle that connects ecology, people and a sustainable way of living.
Almost everything that the animals on the farm eat is grown on-site. The farm also has its own inhouse butcher. This butcher can provide special cuts that supermarkets don’t normally cater for, including unconventional cuts such as the shin.
