Louise has been working with her customers and poultry vets to run feed trials, the latest one being on a higher energy diet for high altitude partridges. She is a strong believer in the game sector and is always looking to improve the feed she can deliver. She has also developed a wheat pellet including wormer which is a well sought after product within the industry. Louise passed her Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) exam and now keeps up her Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points which allows her to prescribe wormer within game feed. This is a great asset for her and Spratts Game Foods. She also has a strong presence on social media within the industry and is a strong face in the industry, with passion, drive and great commitment.  Louise also goes out to visit customers when hatching, rearing and attend shoots, so sees the various aspects of industry life from start to finish which is a great support to customers and gives her a full understanding of it all.

Nominee - Sectoral Impact

Louise has been running feed trials to help the estates within rural Scotland, she attends events by local organisations such as Scottish Land & Estates, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, Scottish Gamekeepers Association which helps promote the industry and what is going on. She supports industry events and helps educate online via her business social media and articles in magazines and newspapers. With running a feed trail alongside a customer and support of game vets, and assistance from her poultry nutritionist, it has shown the commitment and passion she has for the industry. The drive she has to better the sector and the support and understanding she has for the customers. With various feedback from her other trials, Louise has worked with the mill to develop new products which customers have been glad to see.

Nominee - Going the extra mile

Louise went the extra mile, and worked along side her nutritionist and a customer to run a feed trial for high altitude partridge in the highland of Scotland. This was very successful, with the customer seeing fantastic results of strong birds, who held condition during the peak of winter with cold temperatures and snow. This has now been introduced to the feed options for all customers due to the positive results.

Louise also developed a wheat pellet which contains wormer which helps keeps treat birds for worms late on in the season when they may already be on wheat as a feed. Again, this has been very well received by customers. Louise held a mill tour last season for customers, this was very informative and showed customers exactly what goes into feed, how it is made and bagged. This really put into perspective the time, work and effort going into our feed. Louise has also developed a "know your feed label" leaflet which has been incredibly useful, as like many customers, we've never understood a feed label or the importance of understanding it. Again, this help from Louise has been greatly received.
