The Scourie Hotel has been a welcoming guest to the North West of Scotland for over 170 years. The hotel, its restaurant and bars offers a home from home atmosphere to anglers who want enjoy some of Scotland’s finest wild brown trout fishing on the hotel’s 300 lochs and lochans. We are known as ‘The Home of Wild Brown Trout’.  

In 2015 the Campbell family purchased the hotel and began a continuous and transformational refurbishment program. 

Our guest profile has broadened and people visit us from Australia, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong and the USA - over a third of our guests come from overseas.

SO MUCH TO ENJOY
We are an ideal stopping off place for The North Coast 500, which passes our door. The local area offers good walking, wildlife, visits to Handa Island and arguably some of Britain’s finest beaches all within a stones throw.

FRESH AND DELICIOUS
In 2018 we established our own kitchen garden, which with our own smokery in allows us to offer our guests and customers the finest ingredients with the fewest food miles. Our own fruit, vegetables and herbs are served throughout our season.

The hotel’s fish and seafood comes fresh from local boats. Our meat comes butchers in Dingwall, and game from Ardgay. Our wine and beers are supplied from an independent vintner and Scottish breweries.

We have seen our average occupancy increase by over 30% and bar sales by over 35%. The refurbishment of all 21 rooms enjoy a 92% occupancy rate - over 60% of our guests are regulars, booking for the following year as they check out!

GREAT LOCAL TEAM 
The hotel employs 16 people half of whom are permanent residents within Scourie. Providing jobs and welcoming visitors to eat, shop, stay and marvel at what this part of the Highlands has to offer is part of our charter. We are always on the lookout for local talent to be part of our team. The current team enjoys courses from training professionals at the start of each season to ensure we all do the best possible job for our guests. 

SUSTAINABILITY AND INVESTMENT
With 25,000 acres of water we are engaged with local conservation groups to manage weed and related vegetation to provide the right balance between great fishing and a strong ecology. 

The hotel’s recent bar refurbishment provides a fresh look and feel to the local dining scene. The place is constantly busy and offers a welcoming buzz.

Development plans for the property include the construction of additional rooms affording breathtaking sea views from the hotel.
