S’Wheat is the brand behind the world’s first plant-based reusable bottle, with the core mission to protect the oceans from plastic pollution. Crafting a revolutionary eco-friendly bottle made from bamboo and wheat, they aim to redefine the future, tackling climate change along the way.
As we are all aware, the increase in the use of fossil fuels has created excessive amounts of greenhouse gases to be released into the atmosphere, CO2 being the largest emission released. Alongside this, overfishing, irresponsible tourism, poaching and wildlife capture, extractive activities for minerals and large amounts of pollution from microplastics/plastics and chemicals are all contributing to pollution filled waters.
For every S’wheat bottle sold, they plant a trackable native tree in your name, remove 20lbs of ocean-bound plastic and donate profits towards protecting sea life. 20lbs of ocean bound plastic being removed is roughly 450 plastic bottles being scooped out of the ocean.
The S’wheat bottle is made from plant waste materials, they source their bamboo and wheat straw from farmers, which otherwise is typically just as it has no use to them, releasing unnecessary greenhouse gases in the process. This means they are preventing from adding to the 17 million barrels of oil used annually to produce plastic and keeping their carbon footprint at net zero. Due to this, S’wheat skips out on the need to use energy intensive manufacturing processes, in fact, S’wheat only uses 1/16th of the amount of energy that is needed to produce a steel water bottle. This means that less CO2 is created in the process, giving our oceans less CO2 to absorb in the first place.
Not only this, but S’wheat are officially offsetting more carbon than they produce, surpassing carbon neutrality and becoming carbon negative. This means that when you purchase one of their bottles you know for sure that you won’t be contributing to the negative impact CO2 has on our oceans.
They want to disrupt the plastic industry and encourage others to do the same. That's why they don't use any form of plastics when shipping their S'wheat bottles. They don’t use any plastic in the packaging, but recyclable paper tube inside a recyclable cardboard mailer box to strive for the most eco-packaging options possible.
Even if used daily, S’wheat bottles can last 5-10 years, but should decompose in a composting site within 6-9 months. Compared to the time taken for plastic bottles to decompose which is 450 years.
Their main initiative is the standout benefit from the product where every time one S'wheat bottle is sold they plant a tree, donate profits, and remove sea waste. When the tree is planted you, the buyer will receive your very own traceable tree which you can monitor the growth of, engaging customers and creating a relationship with them.
