In order to thrive, rural businesses need a regulatory and fiscal framework which recognises their unique circumstances.
SLE works across a broad portfolio of issues including digital connectivity, wayleaves, utilities, renewables, diversification and non-domestic rates to ensure regulation and policy is proportionate and reasonable in order to incentivise investment and increase business viability.
We seek supportive frameworks allowing businesses to diversify and thrive.
Non Domestic Rates - Revaluation 2026
Members can log into the document library to download information sheets on the revaluation and the procedure for making a proposal (i.e. appealing the revaluation). There is also information on available reliefs.
The deadline for making a proposal to the Assessor against the valuation is 31 July 2026. The Assessor is only concerned with the valuation of property for the purpose of business rates.
Any query or correction regarding the application of reliefs should be addressed directly with the local authority.
