Scottish Land & Estates Supports Appeal for Information Following Red Kite Death In Aberdeenshire
Press ReleaseScottish Land & Estates today supported a police appeal for information following the death of a red kite in Aberdeenshire.
The bird of prey was initially found by a member of the public in the Glenbuchat area of Strathdon and was recovered before further investigations found that the bird had been shot. It is believed the bird was shot sometime between Monday, February 3, and Tuesday, February 4.
Ross Ewing, Director of Moorland at Scottish Land & Estates, stated: "We support Police Scotland’s call for information regarding this case.
“It is our hope that the circumstances of the incident can be established as quickly as possible as we continue to strive to tackle all forms of crime against birds of prey.
“We would strongly encourage anyone who can help police with their investigation to contact them as soon as possible.”
