Scottish Land & Estates supports police appeal following disappearance of white-tailed eagle

Scottish Land & Estates has today expressed its support for a Police Scotland appeal for information following the reported disappearance of a white-tailed eagle in the Moorfoot Hills.

The four-year-old bird is believed to have been in the vicinity of the Northern Moorfoot Hills during early November, before its satellite tag stopped transmitting.

Ross Ewing, Director of Moorland and Strategic Projects at Scottish Land & Estates, said: “We support Police Scotland’s appeal for information as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of this white-tailed eagle.

“We understand that land managers in Moorfoots have been helping police with the search and will continue to provide whatever help they can as the investigation progresses.

“It is clearly in everyone’s interests to establish as quickly as possible what has happened to this eagle. We would encourage anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist Police Scotland.”
