- The Helping It Happen Awards are open to residents and owners of businesses based in Scotland, whether or not they are a member of Scottish Land & Estates (SLE), aged 18 years or older, but subject to the exclusions listed below:
- Current employees of SLE.
- The Awards judges, their family members and associates.
- SLE reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and check their identity.
- All complete entries for the 2026 awards must be received by 23:59 on Tuesday 30 June 2026. Any entries received after this date and time will only be considered at the discretion of SLE.
- Finalists will be contacted by the end of August 2026. Should SLE be unable to contact finalists within 5 business days of notification or should finalists be unable or no longer wish to participate, SLE reserves the right to award a place in the final to an alternative entrant, decided upon feedback from the SLE Helping it Happen Awards independent judging panel. SLE will not be liable for any failure, delay or inability to contact finalists.
- The prize (a trophy for winners and a certificate for other finalists) must be taken as promoted, and no alternative will be offered.
- Entry forms must be completed in full, either by the entrant on their own behalf or that of their business, or to nominate others. You must provide the full name and contact email details of your nominee. By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have the authority to share information from your entry (including text, photos and names of people/businesses) and that it may be stored and reused for all promotional purposes for the current awards and in future to showcase good practice. Any personal data which may be submitted in an entry will be processed by SLE in accordance with any applicable data protection legislation and SLE’s Privacy Policy.
- SLE will rely on the accuracy of the information provided in the entry form and it is your responsibility to ensure that all the information is correct and up to date to the best of your knowledge.
- SLE reserves the right to move an entry from the category entered to another category if it deems the alternative category is more appropriate. You will be notified of any such change.
- Winners will be announced at our awards ceremony on 1 October 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Finalists will be contacted ahead of this taking place or of any changes to the venue or date.
- Events may occur that render the selection of finalists, the selection of winners and the award ceremony altered due to reasons beyond the control of SLE and accordingly SLE may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the Awards programme and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to SLE as a result thereof.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant resulting from entering or being nominated for the awards or by the acceptance of the prize (trophy or certificate) or attendance at the awards ceremony.
- This promotion is governed by Scots law. .
- The Promoter is Scottish Land & Estates, Registered in Scotland No. SC 257726.
- The Rural Champion Award will be funded by The Royal Countryside Fund and therefore will be subject to The Royal Countryside Fund’s terms and conditions.
