A formal review of the Scottish Forestry Phytophthora ramorum action plan was carried out over the winter of 2020/21 with a revised action plan published in June 2021.

It has been brought to our attention that there is some concern amongst the SLE membership with the current strategy; in particular with the different action zones (3) outlined in the plan and their adequacy in preventing disease spread.

Scottish Forestry is expected to review the action plan again in June 2022. Ahead of this review we thought it would be useful to hold a members round table event to discuss current concerns and gain an understanding of what changes members would like to see to the existing plan.

This online event is open to SLE members only and will be chaired by SLE Policy Adviser Karen Ramoo.

Paddy Robertson Tree Health Planning and Contingency Manager from Scottish Forestry will be present and will give an overview on the existing strategy, this will then be followed by an open discussion. The main purpose of the event is to obtain feedback to inform the review process later this year.
