Food from Farming is a consultancy business with a vast experience in the food and drink sector. They believe strongly in the locality and seasonality of food and drink, and the positive impact it can have on the local economy. The team bring together their breadth of experience and expertise to support food and farming businesses whilst sticking to their ethos of collaboration, sustainability, locality and enhancing circular economies.
Established in 2015 and originally a part time business, owner Sheena Horner began Food from Farming to help others in the food and farming sector develop the skills she had gained over many years with her own food business. Food from Farming was successful with two applications for both Dumfries and Galloway and Ayrshire to become regional food groups in 2020 as well as expanding their offering. In 2021 they took on their first associate and the team has now grown to four. From offering carbon literacy training, to quality control within the food industry from digital marketing to business start ups, Food from Farming can help. Whether you are starting out in the food and farming industry or looking to expand.
Food from Farming supports local whenever possible and gives their time to help in the community. The regional food groups both have the ethos of building the local food and drink economy. Sheena and her team care about local and seasonal food and work closely with wholesalers, hospitality and primary producers to develop this.
Food from Farming is the first consultancy business to be awarded a Certified Businesses from Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.
