The Orkney Dairy is a small dairy business based in Orkney selling farm fresh milkshakes, yogurt and hot chocolate bombs. Having only been up and running for just over a year, they have gained a brilliant local customer base, enhancing the local community with their new business venture.
They are the only producer on the island that makes produce from their own milk. They also have a unique breed of cattle from which they source from. The fleckvieh cattle are a dual purpose breed which were imported from Austria 12 years ago. The herd on the farm is now 90% flechvieh and produces a very high quality milk.
As a small local business, The Orkney Dairy are very eager to support other small local businesses. They supply all of the local shops across the island, as well as using them as suppliers when they can. All of the packaging is recyclable, as well as being partly recycled before we receive it. As well as this, the dairy is ran on renewable wind power.
