Kersheugh is a 436-acre farm in the Scottish Borders, ran by the Jackson family. They have a variety of different farm animals which they collect produce from, and they offer visits for the public to experience real farming life and enjoy the surroundings of the Scottish Borders.
The Jacksons have been farming in Jedburgh for over 50 years and have built their own farming community which they are now sharing by setting up ‘Jacksons at Jedburgh’. They want to share the work that they do and provide great days out in the countryside for families and groups. The public are invited to visit the farm to see and feed the animals and experience life on a farm in the Scottish Borders.
On the farm they have lambs, goats, Highland cows, pigs, chickens, ducks and around 1000 wool shedding and native Shetland sheep and 500 Salers and Aberdeen Angus cattle graze the land. The farmers are proud producers of quality beef and lamb, and they also produce a small amount of home reared pork and plenty of farm fresh eggs.
The impact opening the farm up to the public has been astounding for the Jackson family and the Kersheugh farm. They now provide gift vouchers and season tickets to the farm due to the success of the different experiences they offer.
As a family-run farm, they incorporate these experiences tailored to children to provide a great family day out. Currently they are expanding their poultry area due to its popularity with the children who visit the farm, and they have planned to incorporate Easter and Halloween on the farm.
