Caroline has worked tirelessly in her role as Senior News Reporter for the Herald to highlight rural issues in the mainstream press. She has done so by putting together incredible feature series on rural topics such as depopulation and land reform to place these issues at the heart of the news agenda, securing front page coverage for the issues affecting rural communities. During the launch of SLE's paper on Repopulating Rural Scotland, she made the call to run a new series on the topic which, coupled with her paper's excellent editorial work and imagery, made for several excellent front pages. She has been a consistent champion of placing the spotlight on issues like these and has used her role at the Herald to ensure that a predominantly urban audience is made aware of the challenges facing those who live and work in rural Scotland as well as the benefits they deliver. Caroline is a great writer with an especially keen eye for emerging stories. Her work has helped bring what some might have seen as niche issues into the mainstream, providing a voice for rural Scotland.
