ANTA House
07858868756
In 1984 ANTA was founded with a simple principle in mind - to produce high quality, traditional design in Scotland, using natural materials. The latest of our designs is the ANTA Bothy. Inspired by simple Scottish and Scandinavian structures built in remote locations to escape the city and enjoy the wild rural landscape, the ANTA Bothy is the contemporary take on the tradition. During the past couple years there has been a need to create a separate space in which to go to work or sleep. The solution is a compact and self-contained home-working or accommodation space, designed for year-round use. Built in the Highlands using traditional, sustainable materials, the Bothy is low impact and fits within the landscape that surrounds it.The douglas fir cladding has a warm grey patina as it weathers, the interior walls are covered in ANTA Highland Tweed which is both naturally insulating and beautiful. A double sofa bed with sprung mattress is covered in the same tweed, with storage below, or there is the option to include a built-in desk instead. Functional elements are hidden: the kitchen is concealed in two cupboards, one to contain the hob and fridge, the other the sink and storage, both featuring our hand-painted tiles. A douglas-fir door leads to a shower room with loo and basin, with a loft above, useful as an extra sleeping space. Bothies can be custom made to suit your requirements, please get in touch to discuss.
Ardalanish
01681 700 265
Ardalanish is first and foremost a farm and that is why the weaving mill is set at the end of the road, on a peninsula. In the late 90s, the farm changed hands and its new owners wanted to return it to an organic state. In the process, they looked at both the animals and the associated waste from the farm.
