Lantra
01738 310164
From forestry to food production, the UK and Ireland’s land-based industries are home to hundreds of different jobs and careers. And we should know – we’ve been helping to develop their workforce for over 40 years now. Lantra are the Sector Skills Council for Land based. We work closely with industry bodies, employers, governments and educators to provide quality training, career guidance and partnership opportunities, giving employers and learners the skills they need to work safely and productively, while getting ready to meet the challenges of the future. As a registered charity, we put the needs of learners and employers before profit. We have dedicated teams in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, all providing expert local guidance backed by years of industry experience, and who flex to suit the needs of the devolved nations. There is often overlap in what we do, and as you might expect, we regularly share ideas and best practice. In Scotland, our focus is promoting the sector as an attractive and rewarding place to work, supporting the development of a skilled and diverse workforce, and working to ensure that policy and practice meet the needs of the sector. We have an experienced and broad-based board (including one of our Industry Champions!), who all help to ensure our work stays focussed – helping our sector to meet its skills needs. We are always looking for new partners to engage with, so please do get in touch if you would like to support our careers work, or if you would like to find out more about training options that might suit your business.
