Helping It Happen Awards

Our national Helping it Happen Awards recognise the role of estates, farms, rural businesses and individuals who are helping rural Scotland thrive.

Whether through providing affordable rural housing, supporting local businesses, or working with schools to support rural skills, the Helping It Happen Awards highlight the achievements of the forward-looking businesses, estates and individuals who are making a real difference.

Please contact us at if you have any questions about the awards, or an entry you have made, and we will answer your questions or address any problems as soon as possible.

The Helping it Happen Awards 2022, sponsored by NatureScot, are now closed for entries. Please do not send in any additional nominations, as they will not be considered!

Hudson Hirsel are delighted to have won the Scottish Land & Estates Rural Housing Award 2021, sponsored by Velux.  This is a very important award not just for Hudson Hirsel, but for all of our contractors and supply partners, without whom we could not have created such a special development on the edge of the Hirsel Estate.

Scourie Community Development Company is a small anchor organisation in one of the most remote parts of Scotland.  Unlike many communities we have no access to windfarm, common good or BID types so funding so having our work acknowledged by SLE will help support our credibility when competing for funding to sustain the vital services we provide for those most in need in the community.

Winning the SLE Helping It Happen Award for Tourism in 2017 was a pivotal moment for us. It was the first major recognition we had received for the business we had created and it gave us the drive to keep moving forward.
