Helping it Happen Awards

 

Our national Helping it Happen Awards recognise the role of estates, farms, rural businesses and individuals who are helping rural Scotland thrive. 

The Awards are open to anyone, with no requirement to be a member of Scottish Land & Estates.

Nominations are now closed for 2026.

 

RCF logoThis year, to mark the landmark 10th anniversary year, a major new Rural Champion Award has been unveiled – with a £10,000 prize courtesy of The Royal Countryside Fund, which has supported rural communities across the 
                                            UK since 2010.

Whether through providing affordable rural housing, supporting local businesses, or working with schools to support rural skills, the Helping it Happen Awards highlight the achievements of the forward-looking businesses, estates and individuals who are making a real difference.

Hudson Hirsel are delighted to have won the Scottish Land & Estates Rural Housing Award 2021, sponsored by Velux.  This is a very important award not just for Hudson Hirsel, but for all of our contractors and supply partners, without whom we could not have created such a special development on the edge of the Hirsel Estate.

Scourie Community Development Company is a small anchor organisation in one of the most remote parts of Scotland.  Unlike many communities we have no access to windfarm, common good or BID types so funding so having our work acknowledged by SLE will help support our credibility when competing for funding to sustain the vital services we provide for those most in need in the community.

Winning the SLE Helping it Happen Award for Tourism in 2017 was a pivotal moment for us. It was the first major recognition we had received for the business we had created and it gave us the drive to keep moving forward.
